I recently got the opportunity to visit the Piekenierskloof Mountain Lodge which is located just outside of Citrusdal in the Cederberg Mountains and its FULL of awesome activities from Zip Lining to Mountain Bike trails.
Our trip to the resort was a 24 hour media trip with the rad girls from Big Ambitions and a few other local bloggers and media houses.
After meeting up with everyone for a light breakfast, we made our way from Sea Point through to the Piekenierskloof Mountain Lodge, which is an approximate 2 hour drive full of big sky views and amazing landscapes to admire along the way!
Once there, we were taken on a tour the resort to not only see the hotel, but the self catering cottages, facilities and activities too!
After our tour, we sat down for a delicious lunch at their onsite restaurant, Kloof Restaurant followed by some free time before heading off on our first activity for the day, Zip Lining!
The Piekenierskloof Mountain Lodge Zip Line consists of 7 slides and is a great way to spend an hour exploring the resort while zipping through the trees and over a dam!
On our return, the staff had set up their pellet guns at the shooting range and we got to test our skills at hitting targets ranging from large paper targets to small metal objects, which I tried to hit but I sucked!
Shooting is clearly not my thing!
The last activity we got to do was a hiking trail up to the koppie, which was a guided trail and easy enough for children to do too. Just be careful because you are in the mountains and as with most mountains around the area, there are snakes, scorpions and even a leopard!
The eventing was pretty epic because we were surprised by a trip up to “Die Uitkyk Punt” which translated means “The Lookout Point”, which has an INCREDIBLE view of the Eendekuil Valley! It was here that they brought out an amazing cheese platter along with a variety of wines to taste. Not only did we do a wine tasting up there, we also did a craft beer tasting too!
It was really the perfect end to an amazing day exploring the area and once done there, we made our way to dinner at Kloof Restaurant again.
