Here is a new section to my blog that I’ve decided to post every Monday and it is going to be a round-up of Instagram Photos and Videos that were taken not only by me, but of others that I think should be recognised for their epic work!
This weekend was a pretty epic one in terms of the photos that I captured, not just because of the weather in Cape Town, but because Instagram’s weekend hashtag project was #WHPwindy!
My first shot posted on Friday was from a spontaneous mission to Signal Hill and Lions Head to catch the mist that rolled into the city in the early hours of Friday Morning.
Check out my buddy Nick’s time-lapse of that sunrise!
My next shot was of the weirdest sunset I’ve seen in a long time where the sun turned into a mushroom, then a top hat and then a space ship just before it disappeared under the horizon.
As mentioned, the hashtag project that Instagram ran over the weekend was #WHPwindy which was awesome because I rely heavily on wind to move clouds in all my time-lapses, so here are the posts that I used as entries for the project:
My last post for the weekend was of a time-lapse that I captured over Table Mountain while waiting for the lights to be switched on to illuminate the mountain red. This never happened, so I let the time-lapse run for an hour and a half and this was the result:
To end things off, here are a few other shots uploaded by others this weekend which if you have not seen, I thought they were pretty epic!
If you know of someone that takes amazing photos and you think they should be featured on my Instagram Weekend Roundup, please contact me with their username.
