One Night of Royalty at The Silo Hotel

The Mother City is full of amazing hotels, but after spending a night of utter luxury at The Silo Hotel, now I know why it’s quickly becoming Cape Town’s most sought after hotel to stay at.

This new masterpiece by Phil & Liz Biden’s company, The Royal Portfolio, is situated right in the heart of where all roads seem to lead in Cape Town and now that The Silo Hotel is open, it’s turning heads around the globe.

It’s really not hard to see why there’s such a fuss being made about The Silo Hotel after Carlinn and I recently got to spend a night in this palace of luxury.

If you didn’t already know, The Silo Hotel was built from what was once the Grain Silo’s used from the 1920’s until 2001 to store grain from all over South Africa before it was shipped off around the world.

Today, it stands out with it’s beautiful exterior “Lantern” design that looks even more amazing from inside.

The room we had for the night, was a Deluxe Superior Suite, with spectacular views of the Cape Town CBD from our bedroom and lounge, through the massive 56 Panel Pillowed Windows, which are at least 5 meters high!

The views of the city shone through all day and all night, but if you’re looking for privacy, there are huge shutters that come down and block off the outside world with the touch of a button.

The massive bathroom with heated flooring, a gigantic bath and a shower overlooking the Cape Town Harbor out of the same pillowed windows made for a really unique experience both in the evening, as well as when that golden morning light started pouring into it while I was getting ready for breakfast the next morning.

The Silo Hotel has 28 Rooms spread across 7 Room Categories, all of which have been hand decorated by Liz Biden herself and not one room is the same!

Apart from the rooms, this award winning hotel has been decorated with the most amazing art and from September 2017, it will open it’s doors to the Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa (MOCCA), which will be home to Africa’s largest collection of African Contemporary Art.

On the roof of The Silo Hotel, guests can enjoy a swim in the rooftop pool that has unspoiled views of Table Mountain and everything before it, or they can soak up the sun on the Rooftop Deck with private access to guests only.

If you’re looking to grab a drink at The Silo Hotel, they do allow roof access for day visitors to enjoy some bubbles or a cocktail and what better way to end a day than bubbles being toasted to another amazing Cape Town sunset.

Breakfasts at The Silo Hotel’s Granary Café are as amazing as the night’s sleep you’ll have in the hotel’s super comfy beds!

Seriously, if you love your breakfast being served to you like you’re king or queen of a country, you’re in for a treat with how you’ll start your morning.

From the cold breakfast selection, all the way to the hot meals you can order from your server, you’ll walk away completely satisfied.

If you’re looking to grab a bite to eat yourself, there is a “pre-booking” option for breakfasts at The Granary Café, but lunch is served daily at both restaurants on site, including The Willaston Bar, located in the hotel’s library.
